The Casa Suiza was started by Heidi Stacher who started to rent rooms in her own house in 1970 in Huancayo, a nice valley in the Peruvian Andes. Her goal was to go on keeping in touch with the people that came from Europe ; offer them our house, and strive to ensure that they treat our place as their own home.

Several years later, in 1980, she moved to Huanchaco, a cute beach village, very close to Trujillo, and decided to keep on providing the same service to travelers. Since then travelers call our house: Heidi's House. (As shown in some travel guide-books). We are very proud of our house and its well designed plan. It also makes your stay more enjoyable.

In 2005, Mrs. Stacher passed away, Casa Suiza was partially closed for a while. Finally in July 2007, Philippe Faucon took over what has been celebrated as one of the best budget inns in Huanchaco.

Philippe was born in France. His parents are still making wine in the south of France a couple of miles away from the springs where the Perrier water comes from. After more than 20 years in the deserts of Arizona, Philippe started commuting between Phoenix and Huanchaco, enjoying the laid back way of life. Soon, suffering from a lack of simple way of washing clothes, he started the Mister Phil Lavanderia in the Los Helechos Street, and has been experimenting with Mister Phil Vivero on the road to Trujillo.
